They'll be 14 months old next week. Hard to believe. Things are crazy around here, but we're having a blast.
In case you're wondering: they're both cruising and pulling up on everything, Colter says "Gu" (sometimes this means Governor) and "Daddy." Riley doesn't say any words we understand yet, but I'm thinking she may bust out with a whole paragraph at the rate she is babbling - so expressive! Governor is much more interested in them (and in eating the occasional bath toy). Jeff loves wrestling with them, pulling them around the kitchen in the wagon that's actually designed for legos, and generally any rough housing they can get away with. They get so excited to play with their dad. They're finally eating a lot of what Jeff and I are having at meals, so that's been helpful as far as planning and getting dinner on the table. They love looking out the window, swinging at the park, going for walks in the stroller, and generally any outside activity except playing with their toys in the pack-n-play while I try and help Jeff get the yard under control. They would have none of that. Outside will be more fun when they can walk. And more exhausting. :) We changed our gym membership to the YMCA. I'm only averaging taking them once or twice a week so far, but we're getting into more of a groove. Colter still cries when I leave, but he stops before I even get to the stairs. They love being around other kids and I love a break here and there.
Our pediatrician basically told us last week that Colter has asthma. We've been doing breathing treatments since December. We do them twice a day (more if he gets a cold). I'm taking him to a specialist later this month to see what else we can be doing. The doctor told us that the better we control it now, the more likely (although no guarantee - when do they ever give you a guarantee in medicine!) he'll outgrow it. That's what we're hoping for.
Jeff and I are both stressed at work. He stresses while at work; I stress about going to work. I think it always stinks to be the new girl, no matter how old you get. My old job really felt like home and I miss that a lot. Believe me, I've tried to make working a couple days a week at PHOC make sense financially. No luck yet. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things I like about my job. I'm honored to take care of these kids. I just hate leaving my family in the evenings and they hate that I'm leaving. But, you gotta do what you gotta do and I'm very grateful to have a job!
Don't worry, we did celebrate Riley and Colter's birthdays. I'll post more later.

I was so excited to see you had a new post!!!! I wanted to pass on a word of encouragement about Colter and the asthma... that's what happened with us and Megan. We spent a year on inhalers (2 types, every day) and I have to say, she's sooo much better this year. We've still had to have the inhalers and nebulizers a fair amount this spring - but since her ear tube surgery, I've seen a remarkable difference in her breathing. I think we still have a ways to go, but it's been encouraging. I hope you see the same fast outcome for your little one. They are so stinkin precious!
thanks for the comment about the better you control it now, the better off they will be in the long run. that is good to know. we have been doing the pulmicort twice a day since november i think, and they said to do it until at least may. plus we have to do albuterol whenever he gets a cold or congested, including what i think is from allergies because he does not seem sick at all but is coughing his head off now. it is a pain - one time i even lugged that machine to suzanna's because we were going to be there during the time he needed it. but it sure helps. hope work gets less stressful for you guys. i think it's that way all over - i know for sure it is at the depot anyways. everyone looks kind of haggard. i know i feel haggard!
thanks for the update on the kids - they are so cute!
